Chuwi is probably one of the fewest companies that put of a budget tablet into the next level. They always manage to provide some great options in term of build quality and hardware, but never put such a high price point on it. This time, we are seeing another case with Chuwi Hi13. This product is a 13 inch Windows tablet which powered by Celeron N3450 and 4GB of RAM. The specification especially in term of processor is common, but here they never sell the specification as the main selling point. The thing they truly want to sell here is located on the display. They put of 3K and IPS panel which looks pretty great here.
For under 300 dollars, I find this budge system as the worthy option as long as the users do not mind the low performance and prefer to have a better multimedia support. Comparing it to Microsoft Surface Go 10 Inch, you expect a lower performance, but getting a better display and multimedia support here. It’s good to have another option considering people will have their preference for what the best option for them. Let’s take a look inside and see how it works on us. That is what we are going to talk about here.
Design and Connectivity
Aluminium is a common material found in many modern tablets nowadays and they give us the similar case here. The entire chassis is built from aluminum alongside with silver matte finishing. There is no color option available and silver is the only option we have so far. The build quality is decent in my opinion, but never put your expectation pretty high because I notice the Surface Go has slightly better build here. As for 13 inch device, I am surprised to see how light the weight is. In fact, the 1.1 kg of weight is quite heavy, but its fine with the 8 mm of thickness it has. Holding it with single hand is comfortable enough thanks to its nice size bezel.
One thing you should hate or like here is the connectivity. I find no standard USB port and they replace it with a single micro USB and USB type-C which forces you to buy the external adapter for connecting your accessories and devices. Thankfully, you can get any of them for a cheap price in many online stores now. I personally hope to see the standard USB port considering I can just plug my drive without need for anything.back to menu ↑
Display and Keyboard
The display is probably the biggest selling point here. The 13 inch IPS panel features of 3000 x 2000 resolution which looks totally impressive here. Its quality is better than my expectation and looks promising for streaming 1080p content to your needs. Unfortunately, I slightly notice the display is not fully laminated for some reasons and I find a small gap between the glass and panel. As the result, the panel looks somehow reflective during the days. Not a big problem, but worth mentioning here. I also notice the Gorilla Glass protection is missing and means using the tempered glass or screen protection is truly necessary here.
Moving into the input support, you have to buy the keyboard separately or just using any type cover keyboard you want and connected it through Bluetooth. I personally love to use the type cover keyboard because it’s more portable and cheaper than its accessories keyboard. Yeah, the manufacture puts the decent price for its keyboard accessories and thankfully they never force us to buy it together. Just use any kind of keyboard you want here as long as it fits the screen perfectly.

Performance and Battery
Its bit disappointed to see how underwhelmed the performance especially considering on how good it feels to edit video and photo on its amazing. Here, the Intel N3450 processor only allows you to do some easy tasks light such as editing document and browsing, but never allows you to have more intensive works due its hardware limitation. The processor only has dual core CPU with clocked at 1.1 GHz. Compared to Core I3 series, this processor is very far behind in term of performance. The 64GB EMMC and 3GB of RAM are decent companion in other side, but its performance might disappoint you here.
With the 37Why battery, users could expect of 6 to 7 hours of battery life in tablet mode while connecting its keyboard might reduce the battery life little bit. Fully charging the battery will take around up to 3 hours, so make sure to not reduce the battery capacity really short because it takes time to fully charge it. In good side, we can charge the battery anytime and anywhere you want through its type-C port through power bank or battery pack. Make sure to have a battery back that capable of delivering great input to your device and the matter for battery issue is solved here.back to menu ↑
While I am seeing the performance as disappointed, I see the Chuwi Hi13 is a decent option for users who demand for comfortable and luxurious way for enjoying their multimedia entertainment purposes. The 13 inch IPS display looks bright and crisp to any content I have here. This is the biggest selling point you might expect here. Beside than this case, I do not see any surprise thing and the left things like audio, port connectivity, and software are decent. The choice is yours, so feel free to take any consideration about it. I just hope the information provided is good enough on giving you an option.
