If you wonder for a while around the internet for searching a new laptop for under 200 dollars, then you might see of EVOO EV-C at the top of your list option. This device is interesting to take a look considering it costs only not more than 200 dollars and featuring some decent hardware specs which available in more expensive system. It’s started with Intel Celeron Quad core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB EMMC storage. The specs is quite low end, but should offer more value than any its competitors from some big brands like ASUS, Acer, or Lenovo which only equipped with dual core CPU.
For someone looking for a gift or wanting to buy a good device for your kids, this might be a good option for you. I have got it for couple of weeks and seem running pretty fine. The build quality is decent, display is good, and the performance is impressive. I just don’t think the after sales support would be great considering this matter is well known for a Chinese brand. Let’s take a look inside and see how it works on us. That is what we are going to talk about on this article. Without further ado, let’s we jump into the article.
Case and Connectivity
I don’t really know you might like or love its design because one can clearly see the design is taking a rip off from Apple Macbook. It looks like the old Macbook Air although its chassis is entirely made from plastic and not aluminum. However, the build quality is not bad although flex and warping is some common issues fine here. The lid cover is quite flexible and pushing it a little will make it twisted at all. Thankfully, the screen does not wobble during my typing which means is great here. The finishing surface for this system is decent with silver matte finishing in all around the chassis.
Checking all around its chassis, I notice some of good and bad things to talk about here. Firstly, it has nice some couple USB type-A ports here. Unfortunately, there is no USB type-C but I take it as pretty normal considering how affordable the price is. In good way, you won’t need to buy a separate adapter for plugging your accessories. The SD card slot is then available for expanding the storage and it also features of a micro HDMI for connecting it to the bigger monitor.back to menu ↑
Display and Input
There is not much to talk about its screen. The 12.5 inch display comes with a TN panel that being a typical of budget system. The resolution itself is still HD and not full HD, but the panel looks great as the fonts are easy to read without needed you to zoom the text. I can still take a HD resolution in screen smaller than 15 inch as everything works like it’s supposed to be. In term of quality, the color accuracy is decent while the brightness is relatively dim. Make sure to adjust the brightness setting into the maximum as you use it in outdoor usage.
As for the input method, the keyboard works greatly although I should mention some issues. First, they put the power button near the delete key which often pressed accidentally. It feels quite annoying as the system will make into the sleep mode accidentally. Secondly, I notice the travel distant is short and the keys feedbacks are bad. The keys don’t bounce nicely and making the typing experience is quite bad. Keep in mind, all of these problems never make the typing as unusable at all and users could still a decent performance here.
|EVOO EV-C 12.5 Inch Laptop||Main Specs|
|CPU||Intel Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake 1.1 GHz|
|Graphics||Intel HD Integrated Card|
|Display Size||12.5 Inch TN HD|
|OS||Windows 10 S|
|Memory||3GB DDR3 Memory|
|Storage||32GB Flash Storage|
The Intel N3450 is a decent quad core processor which features of decent performance and low power consumption. The system runs completely fanless and the temperature management is relatively good. However, I clearly see the booting process takes a long time to finish as I find there are lot of bloatware inside. I really recommend you to delete all of them as it takes the CPU performance down in more than 15 %. The Windows 10 S is pre-installed as the main operating system, but you should upgrade it to Pro version if you want more features. Sadly, the 10GB left space holds us to do anything freely here.
The battery life takes a huge hit as the result of its price tag. The battery only lasts for 5.5 hours and never goes beyond that result no matter what you do. The battery capacity is relatively small and being the main problem for its battery result. Fully charging the battery from 0 will take around 2 hours and the fast charging feature is nowhere to find. They include of standard AC adapter charger and coming with no external charging method through its USB port.back to menu ↑
I am pretty sure it’s impossible to find a better choice than the EVOO EV-C at this price level. Here, Chromebooks which well known for its affordability even cost you more and featuring less demanding hardware. Here, the EVOO manages to provide better hardware in less expensive price. I don’t really know how they do it, but I guess they really tight their budget impressively here. Make sure to consider of this option as your main consideration. The choice is yours, so feel free to take any consideration about it. Make sure to check our latest article and mind leaving some comments below for further assistance regarding the article.
