The Huawei Mediapad T3 8 inch is an under 100 dollars tablet which completely offers the same specification like Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus and even Galaxy Tab A 8.0 inch which sit in much higher price range. All of them feature of Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB RAM, and 16GB Storage. The Android of Nougat is pre-installed as the main operating system and coming with quite decent software update especially in security patch. If you are not a fan of Mediatek and look a device with newer Android OS in lower price, then this should be the best option for users should afford nowadays.
Many of you will think of some Chinese manufactures as the alternative option, but keep in mind most of them coming with relatively poor after sales support and software update. With Huawei big name here, you should not worry about these two problems. I have the device for a while and it seems looking and running pretty great during my usage. Do you think it’s going to be a worth shot for you? Let’s take a look inside and see how it works on us. That is what we are going to talk about on this article. Without further ado, let’s we jump into article.
Case and Looks
The entire chassis is wrapped in aluminum and plastic material and in my opinion look pretty decent. The back cover is made from metal or aluminum while the left sides are left with the plastic included its volume and power buttons. I have to say that I don’t have any problem with the build quality as it feels quite durable and won’t bend pretty easily. However, the transition between the plastic and metal don’t fit nicely and looks there is gap between of them. Not a big problem considering similar case happened in budget price. Huawei provides of two different option in term of color included the black and white models.
One more thing you should love or hate here is the physical button is no longer featured. I see some devices still carry of at least a home button, but they decide to completely go with software button the screen. I love this kind of decision if only the bottom chin is slightly smaller. They put their company logo there, but it can be much thinner in my opinion. As for its weight, you are going to have of 350 grams which considered as easy to handle with single hand.back to menu ↑
Display and Audio
The 8 inch screen features of 1280 x 800 resolution or easily called as HD screen. The text won’t look pretty sharp and far from being perfect, but it does not look bad especially when seeing the screen is actually fully laminated. I can make sure it’s laminated because the screen is not so reflective during the days. Even if it’s not laminated, then they just unnoticeable small gap between the panel and the touchscreen. Unfortunately, no Gorilla Glass protection is featured although the screen is protected by some anti-scratch coating, but it does feel less reliable than Gorilla Glass in handling scratch.
Next for the audio, we only have of a single mono firing speaker. You love it or not, the speaker sounds decent for YouTube and video streaming, but it will never fill your small room pretty easily. I always end up of using the earphone for listen to music because it feels better. However, the quality is decent and likely will make your kids comfortable for watching their favorite content. The Galaxy Tab A is a good option if you demand for a better speaker, but the thing sits in higher price range here.

Performance and Battery
I am not going to talk much about its software because Huawei once again puts of EMUI on the top of Android 7.0. The UI interface looks different to stock Android and people might get used with it after a while. The bloatware is quite minimal, but you should still find some useless apps inside. The Snapdragon 425 processor is a decent companion here and having of quad core CPU clocked at 1.4 GHz. Here, the performance is much better than Mediatek MT8163B processor on Acer Iconia One 8 especially in handling thermal issue. The CPU is maintaining the temperature nicely although it gets quite hot during gaming.
In term of battery life, the result might be varied depending on your usage. While connected to the WIFI, the battery can last even for a day during the standby mode with all of apps like Facebook and Whatsapp running on the background. In full day usage, for most all of time I always have around 8 to 9 hours in my minimal usage. In gaming, the result is relatively good at 4 to 5 hours for running Asphalt 8 in nonstop. The battery capacity is big enough and means the battery life won’t be a problem at all here.back to menu ↑
Some people might wonder what kind of best option to afford for under 100 dollars. For this case, I would recommend of Mediapad T3 8 inch as my best option. The device so far has everything I need as a good companion. It has of nice big screen, the performance is dependable, and the battery life is reliable. There is almost nothing to complaint about and should offer of similar impression to you. Finding a good competitor from big branding name should be hard especially in the same price point here. Well, the choice is yours, so feel free to take any consideration about it. Make sure to check our latest article and mind leaving some comments for further assistance regarding the article.
