The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is a kind of tablet which specifically designed for reading of ebook and does not really have some sort of features like normal Android device we see commonly here. In good side, it still packs with some of nice features for having a much enjoyable experience in reading of electronic books. In 2018, the newer model comes up as the replacement for the old model and Amazon makes some improvements in few sectors that make it interested to take a look here. One of the good things it has is the waterproof support. It has of IPX8 rating where it can stand of water in 2 2 meters for around 60 minutes.
For users who love to make a traveling, then that feature should be awesome as they are no longer needed to use of water proof case in order to use it during the days. Unfortunately, that is probably the only newer feature worth mentioning as almost everything looks pretty identical to me. It’s better for us to take a look inside and see how it works on us. That is what we are going to talk about here. Without further ado, let’s we jump into the article.
Case and Looks
In term of design, the price really shows how it looks here. The case is made out of plastic and you can clearly see the material as not premium as the Oasis which considered as the higher end model of it. If I take a guess, then they should put the same material like the Fire HD tablet here considering they have similar price point. However, Amazon once again puts of some different color woven cases in case you don’t want to stick with black design. The finishing surface looks great, but it gets the fingerprint mark pretty nicely here. Having a plastic case is a good solution and you can get it for couple of dollars here.
Both of right and front sides have of plastic bezels surrounded its corner. As for the front side, I see the bezel is slightly thicker than most of Ereaders outside there included in the same category as Boox Max 2. Sometimes I see it as quite annoying especially when you get used with bezel-less device for a while. Furthermore, the front glass does not feature of Gorilla Glass protection and there is a huge chance the glass will get shattered pretty easily here.back to menu ↑
Display and Features
The 6 inch display looks much brighter than its predecessor, but you won’t notice it easily unless you put both of them side by side. The same case happened to its resolution where they still stick with 300 pixels per inch. I guess it’s just impossible to add a much higher resolution considering on affordable the price is. But, there are of 5 LEDS built in light which will let you adjusting the appropriate condition for your reading. The old model does not have of this feature and I am happy to see of improvement here despite being such a small feature here.
Amazon nicely adds of the audiobooks integration into this tablet which taken from the Oasis. Users can switch between ebook and audiobook pretty easily during their usage with ease. The audiobook is more enjoyable to use for long book while the reader mode is useful when you want to get immersed to any content you see here. There is 8 to 32GB storage configuration available to purchase. Keep in mind, audiobook will take a great amount of space so make sure to pick the appropriate model here. There is just no way to expand the storage, so be careful here.

The Kindle OS is pre-installed as the main operating system and it has packed with lot of new features included from the latest version. Well, this is a basically a decent software although it’s impossible to install some of your favorite apps from Android. But, we could still get an unlimited access to the millions of ebooks available to download or purchase. They make some tweaks for any content you want to search and even allowing you to set your favorite thing, so your friends will be able to enjoy the same reading material as you. I specifically find this feature as useful for children considering now I am able to find the exact content they love to see here.
Other nice features worth mentioning here are the black mode and the cloud storage. The black mode itself is basically just a night mode where the UI will go completely black in order to prevent of eyestrain during the night reading. The feature helps little bit for making everything easier to see during the night. As for the online storage, it’s freely available to save your content in case your storage can’t take the book anymore.back to menu ↑
The Kindle Paperwhite goes beyond of my expectation thanks to its brand new features which specifically made here. In term of hardware, I am not very surprised considering we almost see the exact thing besides than its waterproof support. But, some people won’t really need this feature especially for just indoor usage. For an under 150 dollars tablet, I think I cannot really make a complaint, but feel free to take any consideration about it. Thank you very much for reading the article and mind leaving some comments for further assistance regarding the article.
