Nowadays, there are so many ways for you to read electronic books in good way. Some people might buy a cheap tablet for under 100 dollars with an Android operating system and then loading with apps for reading your favorite books. There are also some users who are willing to spend their money for buying a specific E-reader for having a better experience on reading considering this dedicated device should have a better display for reading and long last battery life. One of the best options to afford now is the Amazon Kindle Oasis 7 inch. The device started for under 300 dollars and featuring some of the best features available now.
Inside, you have a decent 7 high resolution display with so many different adjustment levels. Then, you also have of the IPX8 certification for making it completely water proof for almost an hour in 1 meter. You probably know some worse thing happened during our outdoor usage and this feature might prevent the worst possibility for water damaged here. As long as you are okay with the price, this could be a good option for you. It’s better for us to take a look inside and see how it works on us. That is what we are going to talk about here. Without further ado, let’s we jump into the article.
Case and Looks
The Oasis design is slightly appeared to be different than some of common tablet available nowadays included its sibling, the Amazon Paperwhite 6 Inch. The device itself features an asymmetrical design with its right side appeared as slightly bulky. The left bezel is pretty thin, but you are not going to find a similar impression on the right side. They make it bulky for adding some physical page buttons which allowing you to control what you are reading easily. It also provides a good handling for our hands during a single hand usage. I am quite surprised by this decision, but it works pretty great for reading in long term of usage.
Compared to its predecessor, the design is remaining similar but they make the weight and the thickness much slimmer and thinner. It has just a 3.4 mm thickness promise of 217 grams of weight. That amount of weight is considered as great considering it has a 7 inch screen and featuring a big size of battery inside. Unfortunately, Amazon still does not provide color options for it and prefer to sell some of type cover for giving it a slightly better look. The problem is, this kind of type cover letter is quite expensive and not everyone wants to spend more money here.back to menu ↑
The 7 inch display is considered as the biggest selling point over the Paperwhite that just having a 6 inch screen size. Reading of some comic books which have smaller text is much easier now since I don’t need to zoom the text anymore. The text now sharper and bigger than before despite the resolution is still stuck with 300 PPI pixels per inch. However, they improve the backlit support from 6 LED sensors to 12 LED sensors. The screen is now even more fully usable during days and works great especially when the sun is really bright. This can be the consideration for affording it in 2018.
Another worth mentioning feature here is the ambient light sensor. This sensor will automatically adjust the brightness without need you to do it manually. This feature will save your battery and save your time a lot for adjusting the right brightness for your appropriate situation. The night mode is also available for making the UI is completely black for reading at night with ease. You should find these features as pretty useful considering it improves our experience for enjoying our reading.

Real Life Usage
The Kindle firmware is pre-installed as the only operating system here. For this review, I am getting the WIFI model which considered as the cheapest one here. With all of its features and smooth navigation, I am so impressed until I find out it has of annoying ads on its lockscreen. Here, you have to spend for 20 dollars for getting rid of this annoying ad. Thankfully, you should be free from this matter if you buy the 32GB model here. There are 50 dollars price difference between the 8GB and 32GB model, so be better sure to afford the 32GB model if you have more budget to spend on.
Amazon promises of six weeks of battery during their marketing, but I see this kind of battery is hardly reached especially with some heavy usages. I have to say that I read lot of books every week and basically the battery will last for two weeks until I am forced to recharge it. Keep in mind, the battery life would be depending on how long you are going to spend your time on it. Connecting it to the external Bluetooth audio will make the battery suffer a lot here.back to menu ↑
A 300 dollars E-reader is not something pretty cheap to afford for most of everyone. Some users might even only willing to spend for just 100 dollars for getting one of these tablets. In good way, you can expect of more features, better display, and larger screen at this case. Still, I recommend you to adjust your budget for this matter. I recommend you to take a look into the Kindle Paperwhite if you look for a cheaper or affordable option. The choice is yours, so feel free to take any consideration about it.
