You will cost a lot in order to get of HP Elitebook X360 1030 G3 13 inch, but what you pay for here should be better than you thought considering they have included some of the best features that impossible to miss here. Starting from the performance, they include of Intel Core I5 processor from 8th generation alongside with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. Moving into the design and features, they add of incredibly thin and military grade chassis which looks incredibly well made. I am so impressed on how HP can make it looks great and feels durable at the same time.
They manufacture decide to put the price for under 1600 dollars and might be considered as quite expensive to afford by most of everyone. The Dell XPS 13 that offers the same treatment and even similar quality costs you a cheaper price and unfortunately, HP does not provide a lower end model as the lowest one unit you can afford right now is probably stuck at price I mention before. Let’s take a look at it further and see how it works on us. Without further ado, let’s we jump into the article.
Case and Looks
HP really thinks highly about this device and it’s no wonder they want to almost completely rebuild the design in order to meet the standard. In 2018, most of premium devices are coming with lighter design and nearly bezel-less display and this is what HP also does right here. The bezel is surrounded the display is 50 % thinner and they also reduce the chassis thickness and now coming with 39 % thinner than the previous generation. In term of visual appearance, there is nothing to complaint about this matter. The chassis is built from solid aluminum and then covered with lathered silver finishing that looks impressive.
The interior on the inside promises the similar design approach and more features to see here. Firstly, it has of nice and comfortable backlit keyboard which features of great keys and decent travel distant. Near of its touchpad and keyboard, you should find the fingerprint scanner that offering the much easier and faster access to your system. The speakers on the both sides sound decent although it’s still considered as a laptop’s speakers and means won’t impressive you really that much.back to menu ↑
Configuration and Hardware Maintenance
I have reviewed about the highest end model of this laptop couple months, so I won’t talk about its display and input performance anymore and you can check of these matters from the review of this link below. What I really need to show here is the hardware configurations. HP offers of varied configurations depending on your budget. The lowest model to afford now is probably started for under 1600 dollars and equipped with Intel I5 processor while the highest end model will cost more and powered with more powerful processor. Keep in mind, the RAM and storage will also influence the price, so make sure to reduce the size of them for lowering the price.
If you are afraid to buy the lowest configuration because it maintenance support, then you should not be worry because HP offers of a great value in term of upgrade. The both of WIFI card and M.2 storage are upgradable, but I see the RAM itself is soldered to the motherboard and means nothing for future upgrade. The maintenance hatch is not available and you must open its entire back cover to make inside that should be done pretty easily here. Well, a convertible laptop is well known for its portability, but also considered as lack in term of hardware support.

Hardware and Software
The performance promised by the hardware inside is decent and should provide the best experience you can get in 2018. However, if you look something more powerful in matter of GPU, then I suggest you to see the new Huawei Matebook X Pro 13 which consisted of 150MX graphic card. Here, HP only pairs of the I5 8250U processor alongside of Intel UHD 620 integrated card. The performance in CPU is impressive with four cores work individually and it’s even better with the hyper threading support that manages to handle 8 tasks at the same time. Unfortunately, it’s GPU is relatively weak and won’t let you running games intensively.
As for the software support, HP fits tons of bloatware and their own proprietary applications which all of them might not be useful for everyone. They included of recovery manager, ePrint monitors, the web browser security, and even the Windows 10 tutorial steps inside of the Windows 10 Pro edition. We also don’t forget some of popular games like Candy Crush are included for some reasons. I recommend you to delete some of them because most of them are useless and you should find a better replacement for all of them.back to menu ↑
I almost see the Elitebook X360 1030 2018 as a perfect companion for both of entertainment and work purposes thanks to its solid keyboard, dependable performance, and it’s incredibly bright and crisp IPS panel. Every feature and hardware are combined and designed impressively with almost nothing to complaint about it. I just hope the software matter is much better considering I see lot of bloatware and unwanted apps featured inside. However, that thing is a smaller matter and won’t let me not to recommend it to you. The choice is yours, so feel free to take any consideration about it.
