Razer seems to be in great position in their gaming machine scene. Their products actually are bit pricier in comparable with the competitors in the market, but they pay their high price with better longevity and build quality. As for these two things, I guess you should not really that afraid because they always keep the quality in high standard.
Lately, they have just refreshed their 14 inch blade model that comes with slightly new design and better performance. The system makes a big jump from the old processor into Intel’s Kaby Lake 7th gen processor. The new processor offers greater performance and power efficiency. Its amazing performance is also combined with sleek and beautiful keyboard with lovely display. The design itself is slim and appeared to be one of the slimmest in the market.
The only problem we find here is the price which is really that expensive. There are lot better choices with the same specifications in cheaper price. So, is that newer Blade model worth to buy? Well, you are going to find it soon. That is what we are going to talk about here. We are going to talk about it further on this article. To make it easier for you to understand, let’s we jump into the article.
The design is pretty striking as the original one that I see on couple years back. The weight is only around 4.16 pounds in the measurement of 13.6 x 9.3 x 0.7 inches. The design is even smaller and lighter in comparable with Alienware 13 that has 5.4 pounds weight with 13 x 10.6 x 0.87 measurement. There are other products with similar slimmer design, but Razer is still lighter in term of weight.
I actually get really tired for its old design in four years and I really expect them to make something. Here, they make so many improvements there and there to make it better. I specifically really enjoy the green trisnake logo which is cool. The interior is combined perfectly with backlit Chroma keyboard that makes the firework accent. I would give them my 5 stars for the improvement on the design.back to menu ↑
The Blade has 3840×2160 display that performs an amazing experience. My eyes are just so delighted with the vivid images and its color reproduction. Playing the Overwatch and Witcher 3 are so captivating and deliver the realistic image during the particular situations. Streaming 4K videos are also enjoyable since the quality is top notch with great viewing angles. I have just stuck with it for many hours without know that I have spent for more than 6 hours in front of it.
Like I said before, the color reproduction is fantastic here. It produces of 115 percent SRGB gamut color during the test. The result is far better in comparable with Predator 15 or Stealth Pro and only slightly behind with Alienware 13 that has result with 210 percent. As for color production Alienware is the winner, but in brightness test, Blade got better result on 289 nits score.
|The Razer Blade||Main Specs|
|CPU||Intel 7th Gen i7-7700HQ 2.8 GHZ|
|Graphics||NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060|
|Memory||16GB DDR4 Memory|
|Storage||512GB PCIe SSD|
Gaming And VR
The machine packed with GTX 1060 with 6 GB VRAM which is amazing for a laptop. If you want to feel some of VR experiences, then you just have to connect the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift and you are ready to go. It runs VR games smoothly without any issue so far. I did found any big framerate drop even in the most crowded situation.
As for traditional or AAA games, I guess you should not worry since the specs are really talking here. For example, the framerate easily reaches to 60 FPS on the Witcher 5 with high setting. The result is much similar with Hitman, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and even the newest games from Ubisoft Assassin Creed Origin. You should be safe with these specifications for some years without needed to worry if the GPU or CPU is old enough.back to menu ↑
Those are information I know about it. You can stick with this machine as long as you fine with the expensive price. That is the only reason keeps many people from getting on it. The price is actually worth for everything and you are not going to lose anything here. If you are okay with it, then just stick with it. I just hope this article is giving you the appropriate information for it. At last, thank you for reading the article and see you again next time.
