The low and mid end market is one of the most interesting place to see for a laptop here because this market is so competitive for both of specs and prices. There are so many companies that tried to do anything to get as much as consumers they can by providing of numerous impossible things like Acer did here. The company has just announced the refreshed version of their Aspire E series and it looks great. The company put of AMD A9 9410 processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and 240GB SSD and not EMMC. It’s impossible for us to find similar choices at the same price like this one.
Because of its cheap price range, the company needs to make some sacrifices on its overall look to fit everything. The packaging is the only place it’s left behind here. The plastic lid and base might not made for everyone right now as people would expect more here. Is it still worth to take look despite of its poorly designed exterior and interior? This is what we are going to find out. To make it easier for you to understand, let’s we jump into the article.
The Aspire E is featuring of plastic lid with some kind of woven pattern that has been typical of Acer at their low budget products. The packaging is so lack of detail here and I am not able to find any interested thing beside than its company logo that placed on the lid. Luckily, the build quality is impressive as I did not find any strange thing and the machine is totally durable for hours of usage. Move to the inside, there is a 15 inch screen that covered by thick and black bezel that surrounded the display. At the bottom of it, you soon notice of a full size keyboard that waits for you to test it.
The port connectivity is well complete here although I cannot find any modern port like Thunderbolt and type-C ports. As the companion for your work, there are 2 USB 3.0, single USB 2.0, HDMI, headphone jack, and micro SD slot. On the right side of its body, the DVD drive is placed to fit your DVD movies and all of stuff. Having a DVD drive in 2018 is not common nowadays, but you probably know that many people still need it. This is the reason why they still put it here.back to menu ↑
Fast And Expandable Storage
As for the default setting, the system is equipped with 8GB DDR4 RAM alongside with 240GB SSD. I think these parts are more than enough to support your productivity without any problem. The 8GB memory is big enough to do any multitasking. The same thing goes to the 240GB SSD that quite small for standard right now, but amazingly fast to take every your job. Thanks to the SSD support, the booting time and application load time are done faster than ever. The booting process should take less than 1 minute until the lockscreen is popup.
Another worth thing to mention here is the upgradable parts. Almost all of parts included of storage and memory are upgradeable. The processor is very simple here as you only have to screw few Phillips screws and then open of its bottom case to access its storage and RAM. The memory itself is upgradable to the 16GB and should be useful for anyone looking for more performance.
|Acer Aspire E 15||Main Specs|

|Graphics||AMD Integrated Card R5|
|OS||Windows 10 Home|
|Memory||8GB DDR4 Memory|
The Overall Performance
For supporting your productivity, the system is powered by AMD A9 9410 processor. It features of 2.9 GHZ of base clock that can be boosted into 3.5 GHZ when it needs for demanding power. The 2.9 GHZ clock for low end processor is totally mind blowing and for this case I can say that the performance for single core is really that good. The multi thread performance at the same time giving similar impression as it takes my multitasking work in no issue at all. If you ask me how it’s comparable to the Intel processor, then it’s should be familiar with Intel Core M3 and in some cases even better.
The Integrated R5 GPU is the one that worth mentioning here. The GPU has 192 active shader units or 3 computer cores that clocked at 800 MHz. The graphic card is not designed for gaming, but it should take some demanding apps like Photoshop far better than what Intel promises on Intel HD. There is a huge difference here and this is the reason why I always prefer to go with AMD on low budget price. If you look for performance over the top, then this one is really made for you.back to menu ↑
That is all information I know about it. The Aspire E 15 is turning out to be huge deal for anyone looking for decent performance with their budget range. The design at the same time is not appealing that much, at least showing it to your friend will never make you shame at all. With its price range, I this machine is worth to take look, but the choice is yours, so feel free to take any decision.
