Sometimes I really get tired with business laptop because nowadays they look so similar and mainstream. They do not really have anything to show up to make it different to each other. I heard HP is going to release their new products and I thought it would be the same. Surprisingly, HP manages to get us something unique here by offering of streamlined and sleek hybrid design on Elitebook X360 1020 G2. This is kind of system that you will love to carry around as it features of portable design, powerful hardware, and a very solid keyboard.
The device should be a perfect choice for everyone if only the battery could be little longer here. This is the only parts should be better here in comparable with its punchy keyboard and awesome speakers. Anyone who is looking for stylish device should make their way here as it promises you with so many great things. Let’s check it further and see how it works on satisfying of our needs. That is what we are going to talk about here. Without further ado, let’s make us into the article.
Sleek, Light, and Modern
With its amazing design, I think you will want to show it around in your office. Luckily, the chassis is small and light enough for you to carry it around even with single hand. The design is really shown how capable they are by putting of their premium design into widely consumers. The chassis itself is created from aluminum with silver finishing to all around its body. They leave it completely plain with only HP silver logo placed at the center of lid. When you lift the screen, you soon find the keyboard area and its 1080p display. The bezel surrounded the screen is quite thick and not considered as infinity display here.
I really love its keyboard because it feels so comfortable when I rest my palm here. The aluminum construction is continuing to the inside and giving a seamless experience here. Aluminum is a tough and light material at the same time. I tried to measure its weight and find out the weight is only around 2.5 pounds with 0.5 inch of thickness. As the result of its thickness, the ports connectivity is limited here. You will only find Thunderbolt 3 ports, so better to buy of extra adapter.back to menu ↑
Durability, Display, and Keyboard
Even with the very slim design, the durability and build quality are still becoming their priority here. The system has received of MIL STD 810G tests here and capable of handling multi extreme situations right shocks, drops, dust, and many more. The laptop is really tough and should offer you a full experience on enjoying your system without afraid to break it easily.
Move into its display, you could expect of 12.5 inch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution. The screen looks pretty bright and vivid especially when streaming of videos on YouTube and Netflix. It even looks better on streaming movies than editing document on my spreadsheet. The display manages to produce 125 percent of SRGB with 335 nits of brightness. They put of expensive tag for the system and I think it’s fair to have of an amazing 1080p panel here.
I have to say that I am not a fan of short travel keyboard, but I think it should be great for many users here. The keyboard itself only has 1.2 mm travel distant that might be too short for some users who always typing on 15.6 inch system. With its short travel, it requires to force 80 grams of punctuation and it feels solid as soon as you get used with it. It takes time to get used, but soon able to deliver you of solid experience on typing.

Hardware Configuration and Battery Test
The Elitebook G2 is powered by Intel Core I7 7660U processor with 2.8 GHz clock rate that combined with 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. This hardware configuration is great especially with Core I7 CPU here. Running some applications will really show you how it performs here. I tried to run test with Geekbench 4 tests and manage to get of 8,631 score on my test. The result is great especially considering its fast SSD storage. It only takes me around 17 seconds to copying my 4.80 GB of data. The storage is fast and big at the same time here. The specs might not considered as one of the best here, but still good enough for years of usage.
Although the system uses of ULV processor, the battery life is slightly fall off here for some reasons. It lasts only for 7 hours and 50 minutes all the time with browsing, editing document, and rarely streaming video. Reducing the brightness helps on getting more battery, but it’s not just enough for full day usage. I think the screen brightness is the main culprit here who makes the battery shorter than average result. It’s bad because we always have to carry of the charger here.back to menu ↑
As long as you do not mind with short battery life and prefer have sleek design and beast performance, I think the Elitebook G2 should be on your top list to take here. The design and performance are becoming the biggest selling point here, but that is not happened to the battery life itself. Well, we can always charge it around every time we have a chance for it. Well, the choice is yours so feel free take any consideration about it. Be sure to check our other articles and be mind of leaving some comments for further assistance.
