Aorus X9 DT CL5M is a 17 inch gaming system that equipped with high end overclockable processor and powerful graphic card that should run every single of your games at highest setting at 1080p resolution. Many manufactures said that their product is the best, but not showing anything to proof it. Here, rather than talking some nonsense, the company just prefer to show its true power rather than telling anything. The system is powered by Intel Coffee Lake Core I98950HK which is a brand new processor and alongside with mighty NVIDIA GTX 1080 GPU. The performance is probably the biggest selling point to expect here.
With that amount of hardware level, of course there is a price for it and here the users basically need to spend for at least more than 3800 dollars for getting it. Well, that is a pretty high budget for a laptop, but keeps in mind the experience you get here would be totally different than any systems you have ever tried. I guess its worth for us to take look inside and see how it works for us. That is what we are going to talk about here. Without further ado, let’s we jump into the article.
In term of design, I am seeing something such an extreme and unique thing here. The lid chassis is created from aluminum that finished in jet black finishing. The Falcon logo which becoming their trademark is placed at center of its lid. The exterior leaves completely empty without any impressive thing to find, but this is what makes it special rather than just crowded it with unwanted things. Moving into the inside, you soon find the 17.3 inch display that surrounded by weird bezel. There are two hinge systems that hold the screen pretty well. Opening and closing the lid multiple times does not make any cracking sounds and means the build quality is impressive here.
At the bottom of its tremendous bezel, we get of fully customizable RGB keyboard that sits really neat at center area. Surprisingly, its speakers placed near of its keyboard and should make you fall into your virtual world during gaming. As for the connectivity, the laptop is having every port you need here such as Ethernet, USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Thunderbolt 3 port, micro SD card slot, and power jack slot for charging the battery. By having all of that impressive design and features, the device is weight for 9.6 pounds and feels quite heavy to carry around.back to menu ↑
Display and Keyboard
The 17.3 inch display looks impressive at 1920 x 1080p resolution and NVIDIA G-Sync technology. The company claims the screen has been calibrated as soon as you put it out of the box. On my test, I think the screen is totally usable even for photo and video editing. The images are sharp and accurate, but unfortunately the brightness is slightly low that its competitors. It covers of 122 percent for SRGB color and sadly only 243 nits for brightness. The Gigabyte Aero 15X is having better and brighter display here. If you are not a fan of over bright display, this is a perfect machine for you.
As for the keyboard, the typing experience is wonderful thanks to the 2.3 mm travel keys and 73 grams of punctuation force. I manage to type for 100 to 105 words per minute with only 1.5 percent error rate. The keyboard is really better than any laptops I have ever tested here. The same thing goes to its RGB lighting that features each key customization through the Aorus Fusion software. Setting every key should take a while, but it has some great choices if you do not want to mess around too much here.

Perfect Place for Virtual Reality
I guess by seeing of Intel Core I9 and GTX 1080, you probably know the performance would be wonderful here. The thing is true here because every game I run here is playable at up to 40 FPS on very high setting. Having a more cores on processor is having big pros here for games like GTA 5 that needs not only of powerful GPU, but also capable of processor. The Intel I9-8950HK features of 2.9 GHz default clock and 4.8 GHz of maximum clock. The CPU clock is fully unlocked here and means users could just adjust any clock appropriate to their needs. The hardware scores for 11 for Steam VR test and I think the result is pretty great.
Seeing some games result are making my jaw drop because the framerate is so high. I am getting 77 FPS on the Witcher 3 with ultra-setting and even getting the same result with Final Fantasy 15. These two games are demanding when set to highest setting and the system manages to run it smoothly without any big drop. Unfortunately, the battery life is quite short here as it only lasts for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Well, it’s the price for the performance.back to menu ↑
I am finally sure the Aorus X9 is considered as one of the most powerful gaming device available right now. The price point is expensive here, but everything included of performance, design, build quality, and many things are worth here. My biggest complaint is only located on battery life that far from my expectation. Like I said before, there is a price for its performance. The choice is yours, so feel free to take any consideration. I just hope the information is useful for you. Make sure to check our latest article and mind leaving any comment for further assistance.
