Lenovo is finally releasing their entry level business machine with the coming of E series to the market. There are two versions which available right now that included of the E4 series for 14 inch screen model and the E5 series itself for the larger screen version. Both of them are coming with the same exact specification, so what matter here is the screen size. In term of specification, I think what we get here is pretty great for around 800 dollars. The system is powered by Intel Core I5 7th generation, 8GB RAM, and 512GB SSD storage. The specification is not considered as high end, but should provide enough power for doing anything you want.
Of course with its cheap price point, the system is not perfect. Some points like battery life and display quality are the most important matters to check here because Lenovo is always known for cutting these sectors with much lower quality hardware for many years. I think its worth for us to take look inside and see how it works on us. That is what we are going to talk about here. Without further ado, let’s we jump into the article.
Design and Connectivity
The laptop is marketed as the low to mid end market, so there is not much to expect from its design. The entire chassis is created from plastic and not with aluminium despite its price range. The base unit and lid are designed from roughened plastic that thankfully features a very nice finishing and not making like a cheap system at all. Lenovo only puts single color variant with black finishing although they add of silver option few months back, but I could not find it anymore. The black one itself is not bad moreover if you are a business users. The overall design and impression are great although few things like material selections can be better here.
Furthermore, let’s check out of its durability. Well, I am impressed by seeing its durability considering it’s created from plastic. The base unit is very stable and holding the centre base with some amount of power does not result any flex. The thing is more impressive as the lid itself is impossible to twist for. However, the rigidity is my complaint here as I expect more from it. As for the connectivity, we have two USB type-A port and another single USB type-C for transferring and moving all of stuff.back to menu ↑
Keyboard and Display
The E570 here features a six row keyboard that Lenovo calls as “Precision Keyboard”. The keyboard features of standard keys and the layout is very familiar. I have tested it for a while and I think the experience it offers is great like typical of Thinkpad product. I manage to type for around 95 to 100 words per minute with only 2 percent of error rate. The result is quite great as its still comparison with its older brother that costs you more here. My biggest problem here is the lack of backlight support that makes me almost impossible to type in low light or darker condition. The feature is missing here.
As for the display, the quality is very decent since they offer us of a 15.6 inch screen panel with 1366 x 768 resolution. The HD resolution in 15 inch screen is not so optimal in my opinion especially for multimedia purposes. I tested the display further with Colorimeter and it produces of 55 percent SRGB color and 233 nits for brightness. For doing stuff like browsing and editing document, the panel is okay, but I do not recommend taking it for doing multimedia stuff like photo editing because you would miss many details here.

|CPU||Intel 7th Generation Core I5-7200U 2.5 GHz|
|Graphics||Intel HD Integrated Card|
|OS||Windows 10 Pro|
|Memory||8GB DDR4 Memory|
Performance and Battery
The Core I5 7200U is a common processor used in entry level as it capable of producing of impressive power in low power consumption. The CPU itself features of 2.5 GHz clock rate and 3.1 GHz maximum clock that limited in 15 TDP watts. With proper cooling, the processor is capable of reaching 2.8 to 3.0 GHz clock in quite long time during my performance test. For a daily usage, I think this processor is more than enough especially if just doing of light task and rarely doing of photo editing. As the companion for the processor, we get of 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD that both of them are upgradable.
I do not expect the battery life would be this good because it’s successfully of delivering 7 to 10 hours of battery usage. For most all of time, the common result here is around 8.5 hours and it’s included of streaming movies, checking email, and doing many stuff while connected to WIFI. I guess the low resolution display is making a big impact here on battery life. Well, this will be great main consideration for taking it as your primary laptop.back to menu ↑
The Thinkpad E570 is one of the best alternatives for low end business device. It features of solid performance, long last battery life, and comfortable keyboard. The screen here is however looks very standard and worse than I expect. This is the only consideration you need to think here. The choice is always yours, so feel free to take any consideration here. I just hope the information is good enough on helping you making the consideration. Feel free to check our latest article and mind leaving some comments for further assistance regarding the article.
