You might know that ASUS is really popular with their ROG series for many years. ROG is basically their high end series where they also have the lower model for anyone who is searching an affordable product. That series is called as the FX. ASUS FX502VM is the newest series and most powerful machine from the company. They boost the performance with Intel I7 7700HQ and 16GB DDR 4. As the place for storing the game, it uses of hybrid storage that combine of SSD and HDD. Well, 128 GB or 256 GB SSD is probably too smaller and not fit of few games. GTA V itself already took near 50 GB for single game and means we only have small room left. For this case, ASUS provides extra 1TB storage for storing games without any issue.

NVIDIA GTX 1060 is VR ready and playing most of newer games right now are not big issue. I tried Mass Effect Andromeda and Assassin Creed Origin at high setting and gets overall 40 to 50 FPS on high setting. 60 FPS is possible if we decrease the setting little bit. You could connect it to the 4K monitor like I always do, but of course you might have to reduce the setting little bit. The battery life and keyboard are not bad though not impressive. The battery goes down from 100 to 0 in near 5 hours and 25 minutes in full gaming. It’s quite good and still acceptable. The keyboard layout is weird in my opinion. It takes me few hours to get used with it until I find it comfortable to use for typing on my time. This is probably what you need to do for the first time when you have it. I recommend you to check it further as it looks great.

MSI GP63 Gaming 15 Inch

MSI GP63 Leopard 013
MSI should have getting more attention especially on this year where few of their products are interested to see. One of them is MSI GP63, well the name itself is quite hard to spell and they did not give it name specifically like ASUS or Acer did. But, that do not means make this one appeared to be as bad. Everything from the interior and exterior looks very nice. The entire design itself is finished with black touch and feels impressive. The build quality is great with the hinge and body is rugged. I think it’s capable on taking few drops. Moving to the interior, there a full size keyboard is featured alongside the backlit support. Playing games at dark environment is nice because the backlit light is bright and customizable. The keyboard itself is comfortable for typing where the travel key is quite big. It uses 2.2 mm travel keys and offering fast and reliable way for typing without any big error rate.

For supporting the productivity, they include of Intel I7 8th Gen and GTX 1060 as the main core for performing multiple tasks. Opening multiple tabs on Chrome is not resulted any lag although I streamed 1080p videos at the one of tabs. Playing Rocket League and CS GO are enjoyable and I have spent many hours stuck on it. The performance is stable and ready to take you into full fledge gaming into your hands. The system is installed with Windows 10 and MSI includes their specific software that so helpful. There are Game Caster, System Gauge, and Fan Tweak. I really love the Fan Tweak because I can easily tweak the fan speed to our need to keep the temperature is not hot. Well, you probably will need it especially when you are living in the place with high or hot temperature.

Acer Aspire 7

Acer Aspire 7
Acer Aspire Aspire 7 is your best luck if the users really have limited budget especially when they do not mind with VR gaming. It’s available under 1000 dollars with pretty much thing that you expect here. In term of design you would love it as the look is futuristic with hard edge and sleek lines. The look is fantastic and showing it to your friend would never make you shame at all. The ports selections are well complete if you afraid for this case. There are USB type-C slot for charging and moving data, charging is great through this port, but using the original charger is always recommended. Then, the ports left to find are 2 USB 3.0, single USB 2.0, and 3.5 mm jack audio port. For all the things, I guess there is nothing to worry about it.

In term for gaming, GTX 1050 TI and Core I7 is impressive, but keep mind that it’s not suitable for gaming on highest or even ultra-setting. The difference is quite big in comparable with GTX 1060 that feature more power. But, you can still running newer games without any issue. I have tested few multiple games like GTA 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider and playable at high setting. It’s offering dozen hours of play time in enjoyable experience. The 256 GB SSD is small and might too small, so upgrading it with bigger storage is always a great solution if you want to bring all your Steam games. Acer Aspire VX 15 is not a bad choice especially foe the price that already cheap at all. I guess people never really care for VR for now and this trend would likely still happen in these couple years. The choice is yours, so feel free to decide.

ROG is well known for their business laptop for many years and surprisingly ASUS brings it to the gaming system with much cheaper price. I did notice the product few months back and one of my friends said about it. He said that there is laptop with powerful specs, but with light and sleek design. Yeah, the device itself is the ASUS FX504GE ES72. As soon as you take look at it closely, you would never notice it as gaming laptop at all because the design is different. It brings typical ROG look, but yet containing powerful thing on the inside. The weight is measured only at 5.1 pounds with 5 mm inch thickness. The thing is specifically designed for business users that want to run game on their free time. People are searching for this one in many years and we finally get a device that look different.

On the inside, Intel 8th gen processor and 1050 TI sit nicely and waiting for you to test it. My favorite here is the located on the storage where it features hybrid storage solution. The 256GB used as system storage while 1TB is saved for saving multiple data. The booting process is done in only 6 seconds thanks to the SSD. The heat on running games is controllable although the design is quite thin. First I thought the temperature would go far from 75 degrees and surprisingly never go higher than it. Watching 1080p video on Youtube makes it goes to 70 degrees and keeping it for 4 hours still giving the same result although the center base is quite hot. I personally not having any problem and I guess the same thing will happen to you. If you are looking for a device for multi purposes, then you are in good way now.

Alienware AAW17R4 7002SLV-PUS 17”

Alienware AAW17R4 7002SLV-PUS 17”
Here they are the most known gaming device that we know for so long. Dell has renowned as the king on this market and they are back again with so many improvements there and there. Alienware AAW17R4 17” sports a full HD 17 inch display that features 400 nits of brightness. First, I did not believe it all and there is now it has 400 nits screen. Then, I check it through the Colorimeter and yeah the brightness is really that high. It spots me because using it in the outdoor is totally usable even in under the sun directly. The display is not glare thanks to its panel. The 17 inch screen is big for streaming Netflix and for seeing anything in our games. This is far one of the best of display that I have tested for this current price.

Hardcore gamers should like this product because of that reason. One thing that worth to mention here is the RAM, they use of single 8GB DDR4 RAM and not 16BGB one. I believe the newer games in the 2018 or 2019 will surely take more than this point. That is why upgrade the RAM with the slot available maybe recommended. There is an extra slot that upgradable to the 32GB if you want. Then again, the storage is using HDD and not SSD, but the speed itself is already fast with 7200RPM. I tested and storage were not making any difference or lag on multi-tasking. As for the design, not too many difference to find and we still get the weird, but yet impressive alien look. I think this is the right time for swapping your old notebook for now.

Razer Blade Stealth RZ09 R3U1 13.3”

Razer Blade Stealth RZ09 R3U1 13.3”
You must be familiar with Razer as they have provided dozens of quality device in the market. They might be known as company that made premium product, but they actually have few affordable options that yet interesting to see. In order to make it affordable, they make few sacrifices there and there. One thing that you first notice is the screen size. The display is size not 15.6 like we usually find on the others competitors, but the company decided to use of 13.3 screens with QHD resolution. Luckily, the bad thing is not happened to the quality. The QHD display is top notch where the details are great. I could spot the most details on Batman costume on the Batman Ninja trailer I watched. They really do a nice job on providing high grade panel.

The smaller screen actually never always makes a bad impact. For this case, I found the package is so light and throwing to my backpack is done pretty easily. Carrying it around as working machine and playing games during the break is everyone dreams and we can find and get all of it here. The body is made from CNC aluminum that not only light, but also durable. Intel Graphic 620 is only capable on running light games, so keep it away if people looking for hardcore notebook for gaming or people can buy external GPU and plug it to Thunderbolt port. I specifically put this one because some people are looking for light and durable machine to bring anywhere. Just deal with it if only the specifications are acceptable since the price is that expensive to spend. Be a smart buyer. I leave the link below if you want to check it later.

Dell Inspiron I7577 5241BLK PUS

Dell Inspiron I7577 5241BLK PUS
If you want to sacrifice the design little bit and prefer to have powerful component, then you probably have to get look on Dell Inspiron I7577. Dell is crazy enough on providing this one under 1000 dollars with beast component on the inside. It features 7th gen Intel I5, 8GB RAM, GTX 1060, and hybrid storage. All of these components are common in 1500 or 2000 gaming RIG, but it’s not common at all on this range. You may see the Intel Core I5 is not that powerful, but keep in mind that everything is dependable on GPU rather than CPU. Any great CPU is useless if the GPU itself is weak or slow. The thing is shown here where it leads me on amazing experience on running any game. Every new or old games are playable at medium or high setting. The performance sometimes goes even higher than 60 FPS in games Like COD Black Ops 2.

Like I said before, any good thing would actually make it compact on other components. This is where the design is sacrificed by the company in my opinion. Do not expect good thing from it because the look is plain and simple. The body is designed with plastic that later finished alongside the matte black finishing. The build quality is strong and durable, but it really feels plain. I was not able to spot any details or anything to impress me. The price is talking here, so no complaint for me as the price is already that cheap. Dell sure beats the other companies easily as long as they providing a great choice like this. If you think design is not important thing, then just take it back home.

HP Pavilion Power 15

HP Pavilion Power Gaming 15
HP Pavilion Power 15 is available in few different options as we made this review. There are few versions with GTX 1050 or people could just go along with AMD RX 550 for cheaper option. On this case, we showed you the Pascal 1060. As the starter, let’s we talk about the interior. On the inside, you will spot the Chiclet keyboard that somehow looks similar to what I found on the Dell XPS 15. The keys are comfortable and amazingly well performing on typing during the gameplay. I really enjoy it a lot on CS GO where we need to communicate with our friends really often. The audio quality is supporting our action. The sounds are clear and loud where I am able to point out where the sounds are coming from. The basic setting is good, but playing with the equalizer should give another better experience.

One thing that I really do not like is found on the display. The display is bit dimmer and the images qualities are not impressive. I guess this is the way for them to increase the battery life. The battery goes down slowly like I expect. Play games with low setting might give you 6 hours and the result is increasing as you reduce the brightness. I think the display is making the impact on the battery life. The Windows 10 packed inside has few bloatware and uninteresting stuff. Just delete it from the Control Panel and the problem is solved. If the battery is your top priority, then I cannot a recommend a better choice.

MSI GL63 067 8RD

MSI GL63 067 8RD
I am so satisfied with all of MSI line up that were released in the 2016. They impress me not only in term of design, but also in performance. MSI GL63 is the cheapest series from their dozens of products. The company has just released it with few enhancements and also back along the Steelseries keyboard. The red backlit keyboard is back with dozens of functionalities. The color is now brighter, but yet soft. Typing or using it in dark is better than what I got last year. The keys are not changed at all and it provides wide travel distant. One thing that i notice here is the chassis that now appeared bit slimmer than Apache. It’s slimmer in return of the missing of disc drive. The company gets rid of the disc drive because most people right now not using it that much and almost all of games right now are distributed from Steam.

GTX 1050 TI and Core I7 8750H are combined greatly on supporting the multi-task works. I did not notice any lag on doing Photoshop or video rendering. Render 1080p video done in around 20 minutes thanks to the hardware and the SSD. I am basically enjoying it a lot especially when considering the quality of EDP 1920 x 1080 display. The color is bright and produces around 100 percent of SRGB on my test. The battery is packed alongside 6 cell batteries that last for five hours on gaming. Not great, but still acceptable. The device is fully charged in 3 or 4 hours, but you can just play it while charging. Just never do it often because it might reduce the battery life.

Acer Predator Helios 300 2018

Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315
Acer has been many years well known for their big name in gaming machine thanks to their Predator and competes with ROG line ups. But sadly, almost all of the products are available in such an expensive price and many people keeping distance from it because of that reason. The company really knows about this case and tries to provide an alternative for the consumers. Well, this is where the Acer Predator Helios 300 and making the market on this price range becoming really hot. With the price that only around 1000 dollars we get a pretty much powerful machine for running everything we want. The system is powered with Intel I7 Coffee Lake processor that well combined with NVIDIA GTX 1060. These specifications are capable not only playing of newer AAA games, but also VR game if you only have the Oculus Rift or the HTC Vive.

The performance is wise where the newer games like Battlefield 1 runs at stable 60 FPS even more on the high setting. That FPS keeps stable from the beginning of chapter until the end of game. The same thing goes to the multiplayer option where everything is completely playable. I guess you could run any game right now steadily without any issue. The heat is seems to be okay where it only reaches around 70 degree on the base and never reaches more than it. In providing this amazing thing, Acer has made few sacrifices. The display itself is quite dimmer for some reasons and the brightness is not that great. We basically are going to use it indoor, so not a big problem here. I guess this is the right device for you as the starter for gaming. Check it and see by yourself.

Final Thought

Those are information I know about it. A gaming laptop is not always expensive than we think. There are lot of budget options outside there if you want to search and do research little more. The list above is provided based on my test for this entire year and containing different types of choices. Make sure to put your priority first and then you soon find the greatest one for you. I also placed the guides above if people in need for important list to consider. I just hope the information provided is good enough for you. Thank you very much for reading the article and see you again next time. Please leave any comment if you have any assistance.

What is Your Budget?

When you purchase anything the first thing that you notice is the price point, but how do you know that you’re even budgeting your purchase appropriately? If you are seeking to purchase a high-end gaming computer you can even end up spending close to 5,000 dollars. This price point is not feasible for most customers, but the quality of gaming is higher than basic laptop models. If you want to get the most for your money, it is possible to spend around 1,000 dollars and receive features you need to run your programs smoothly. One of the biggest tips you have as a shopper is to select a budget and shop within it. You can choose to start shopping online, or in a store, but if you fall in love with a computer that doesn’t suit your budget you’re in trouble. By having a price point in mind, from the beginning, you save yourself the heartache of finding a model you can’t afford. Remember, technology is changing every year, so it’s ok to buy a more basic model, because you don’t know what is going to be released in the next several years.

Now that you know what your budget is going to be, you can start to research models that fall within your price point. Say you only want to spend 1500 dollars, you will start to look on various sites to compare models and pricing. It’s the same thing that developers do before they set a price on their computers. You select five laptops that fit your budget and begin to compare what each device offers. How much memory do they have? How powerful is the hard drive? By going through these steps, you will also save yourself the disappointment of wanting too powerful of a machine. However, you shouldn’t have any issues with a 1500-dollar budget, because you can buy high-end machines that have all the specifications that you need. Also, before you select the machine of your choice you must ask yourself why you’re buying a laptop that is specifically to play games. If you’re playing low-budget games that are easily played in a browser then there is really no need to buy a specific device. We’ll go through what to expect from your gaming laptops and how to get the most value out of the money you spend through our itemized details of specifications below.

What Can I Expect for My Money?

We already discussed what you should look for when you’re planning your budget, but what can you expect from the money that you spend.

Less than 1,000: There are many notebooks that you choose from that have an Intel Core i7 processor, which is ideal for gaming. The graphics card will generally be a GTX 1050, and you can expect to have an SSD storage . These are all good specs for someone seeking to play most games, but there is going to be some difficulty for higher powered games. Be careful to avoid all the i5 processors as they are going to have even more problems trying to power higher quality games. You can score some real value with an inexpensive computer, if you’ve got the Intel Core i7 processor.

1,500: Luckily, you won’t have to filter through a ton of Intel Core i5 processors because going over 1,000 dollars weeds these choices out. Another benefit in the 500-dollar increase, is a solid SSD and HDD storage with a 1060 graphics card. Most of these notebooks will also have VRAM at 6 GB which is a substantial improvement of lower quality models. You can spend more than 1,500 dollars, but it isn’t necessary when you have so many well-crafted models in the market.

What Size Device Do You Need?

It may seem a bit redundant, but the size of your laptop is a big factor in the device that you end up purchasing. You won’t spend all your time at home playing games, and you must think about what works the best for you.

Low Portability (17-inch): For those users that only want to carry their computers around a little bit, but mainly want the device to live on a surface, a 17-inch screen is perfect for you. The benefit of this screen size is that you will see details that you can’t view on smaller screens, and that’s because it’s bigger. You do have to think about how big this computer is though because it’s like carrying around a piece of luggage. It is possible to travel with this, but you will rarely find laptop bags to fit this gigantic device. You will have the most power with this device because it is the biggest

Readily Portable (15-inch): Most people you see in internet coffee shops will have a 15-inch laptop. This is considered the ideal size to carry around with you, without having to sacrifice features. The battery life is generally decent, and the screen is big enough to see what you’re doing. You can look forward to an average weight of 5 pounds, which is very convenient as you’re jetting from one place to another.

Maximum Portability (13-inch): It should feel like common sense to suggest that the smaller the device the easier it is to carry around. The downside to these devices is that you’re losing space that you can use for better hardware or larger screens. However, the benefits to these computers can outweigh the negatives. You are guaranteed to have a longer battery life with these machines, and they are very light. The powerful hard drive isn’t present, but depending on the type of programs you are running, this is the perfect piece of technology to carry with you from place to place.

What’s in a Display?

We have discussed how size can affect your purchase, but what about the exact specifications of the display. You will have a beautiful device, but if the graphics aren’t up to par you won’t enjoy the visual effects of the programs that you are running.

Resolution: When selecting a computer to run games on, you need to make sure that you at least have a resolution at 1920 x 1080. You’re doing yourself a disservice if you purchase a computer that has less than that. There are some users that like UHD resolution for having a better clarity in images and texture in our games.

Touch Enabled Screens: Now, when selecting your computer, there are many features that can lure you into a purchase. The touch screen is one of those purchases, is it worth it? Well, unless you plan on doing some design aspect in your daily laptop work, it isn’t necessary for you to have a touchscreen. In fact, unless you are playing swipe games, that you can easily play on your phone, you are never going to use a touch screen. So, skip the touch screen to avoid the extra cost, and put your money in another feature.

Glossy or Matte: Again, when you are selecting your perfect computer you will be faced with many questions that are entirely up to your preference. There are fans of both options, but you’ll have to get a close look to determine which is for you. People that like glossy screens say that the colors are more vibrant, but these screens are susceptible to a glare that you don’t get with a matte screen. On the downside, Matte users don’t enjoy the colors of their screens… which feature will you choose?

OLED: This is one feature that all gamers agree on, they see this display as the highest level of display. OLED stands for organic light-emitting diode that is all natural made and produces light because of electric current introduced to the diode. The panels are more efficient and thin, which provides a powerful panel that gives more color. The most important part of a game is becoming engrossed in the details, and this display transports you to whatever world you’re playing in.

These are some of the many features you can choose from while you are shopping for your new computer. Since your display is one of the most important parts of your game experience, take your time to decide what specifications you want. If you can’t visually get into a game that is nothing but visual, then you are going to have problems.

Graphics, the Power Behind the Visuals:

The graphics card in your laptop is what determines how the images will come across your screen. Games require a large amount of power to effortlessly provide images to the screen, and therefore you need to have a GPU that has its own memory known as Video Memory (VRAM). When shopping for VRAM you should look for 4 GB, since this is enough to effectively run most games. The 1070 card is seen to be the top of the line as far as graphics are concerned, but you can enjoy the 1050 or 1060 just as well. The most advanced graphics card is the NVidia GeForce GTX 1080, but you’re going to end up spending a significant amount of money for this upgrade. This is a choice you will make that depends on your budget, because you can skimp in your graphics, and save a little bit of money. Remember, that you can choose to downgrade many of these features to fit within the confines of even the strictest budgets.

How Powerful Does Your CPU Need to Be?

Now, we’ve come to one of the most important parts of your computer purchase. You won’t always be playing on your computer, and the brain of the device is what’s the most important. Your CPU will allow you to play efficiently and you’ll be able to check your emails, surf the web, and complete your important tasks. If you have a weak CPU you will always have a lagging game because there isn’t enough power to efficiently operate it.

Most laptops, that are specifically to play games, operate off an Intel processor. There are various versions of this processor on the market but you’re not looking for less than an Intel Core i6, even though many laptops are equipped with an Intel Core i5. The problem with the i5 is that it is just not powerful enough to give you a consistent environment while you are playing online. Another choice that you have is selecting a Quad-core versus a Dual-core. Most users suggest that you choose to have a Quad-core, but this is also going to be more expensive.

Lastly, you will have to select how big the memory on your hard drive is. Many experts say that 8 GB is enough, and 16 GB is a waste of time. The more memory you have the more bogged down your computer becomes, which is terrible for gamers. Slate storage is what many gamers choose to rely on, because this flash storage allows you to save your files, but doesn’t take away from your playing experience. If you can’t afford SSD then you can always invest in an external hard drive for your storage. It is possible to buy a 1 TB hard drive for a reasonable price, but the most ideal situation is to have a hard drive and a SSD.

Does Your Brand Matter?

Shopping for a computer will always revolve around the brand that you select. You probably have various thoughts in your head and associations with many brands on the market. For example, if your parents always bought you Dell laptops then you will probably look at Dells initially. We warn you to not be too attached to a name because you can become too focused and miss out on a great deal. If you all want is a Dell, you might miss an Acer that has a better hard drive for less money. Budget should be your only determining factor, don’t let your love for a brand stand in your way. Looking for a device for games may lead you to ask the question, what are the top brands?

Alienware: One of the most popular options, this device has high-end specifications at low prices that are very affordable. However, you do not have a lot of room to customize these devices, so be ready to accept the model that you purchase. There is generally only a limited warranty, and there have been problems reported outside of this window. However, for the most part, this machine is efficient in running programs and fitting your daily needs.

Asus: Typically, unknown to most computer buyers, this is a company known to have a sleek design that has power under the cover. Again, this company does not give you the liberty to customize freely, instead you find a model that suits your needs.

Lenovo: Known to be an affordable option, that doesn’t skimp on the specs. If you’re looking to adhere to a tight budget then this is the option for you. There are several configurations available for every model, making it a bit easier to customize your device.

Razer: This is the highest end gaming laptop on the market, and you’re going to end up paying a lot of money for this selection. Just like Macs are seen to be high-end, versus a PC, Razers are similarly placed above their competition. There is a little bit of room to customize these devices, if you are looking at the resolution or storage capabilities. However, for the most part, you find a model and purchase what you see.

HP: It’s hard to think of the world of computers and not think about HP. However, many gamers don’t think of HP when they go to purchase their machines, which is a mistake. HP offers several different gaming laptops that are high-end at affordable prices. This company produces devices that keep up with and surpass their competition.

Acer: There are many budget devices produced by this company that still have the specifications to run many different types of games. Acer is known for having a hold on the lower-end of the market, but these devices do hold up to wear and tear over the years. You won’t find many other laptops that are as powerful for a fraction of the price.

There are many options flooding the market, whether you are interested in a certain brand, size, or specifications. With a little bit of research, it is possible to narrow down the field, so that you choose a device of your choice. It is more challenging when you select a laptop for gaming because the specifications need to be exact. You are spending a lot of money on games as well as the machine you choose to operate. Once you invest this amount of money, you don’t want to be disappointed by the performance of the machine. We have given you enough information that you should have a starting point to begin all your shopping, and you should be able to create a plan. Once you have a plan in action, hit the web, the stores, and asks your friends what they think the best computers for gaming are, and you can go from there.
