Swift 3 2017 is the latest model from Acer laptop series that is released in 2017. The company wants to get the same success like they did in the last year where they almost did have any big competitor at that time. To make another success, they revise the old model with new slim, sleek, and premium design that looks so amazing. The design is so impressive and people could easily jump into it with its beauty.
Design is not the only good thing to see here because the other segment like performance is also worth to notice here. This company is one of the earliest adopter to use of Intel new gen processor on their products. The CPU is faster, more efficient, and better in comparable with the old 7TH gen. But beyond that, we really need to take look at it closely to see if the machine is really that good and worth to replace their old series. Well, we are going to find it soon.
That is what we are going to talk about here. We are going to talk about it further on this article. To make it easier for you to understand, lets we jump into the article.
If you look up into the majority laptop on the market, then you will find so many similarities on this case. The silver chases and lid are still good, but not that much to appreciate. I just hope they could make it better on the next model. I guess for now, design is not that really their top priority where they really focus the budget on the specs.
One of the change they made here is the introduced of glass front panel that looks really nice, but at the same time, it’s not better in comparable with the old version. They replace it with the glossy finishing that not that good in term of reflection. But, still making complain is not that wise since the price really talks here.back to menu ↑
Display And Audio
display is really worth to note here since it gives us a good experience on using it for many hours. The glass front makes it shiny and gives the dark color to be little deeper even though the reflection is still annoying on this case. The 1080p is combined with IPS display that offers low maximum brightness. I do not really know why the brightness is low, but it does save battery more.
Above the screen, we can find a 720p webcam which the image quality is not that bad. At least, you will not look that dark and gloomy when doing a video call. The image quality is acceptable and could shoot the video for more than 30 FPS.
As for audio, it’s handled by double firing speakers that installed underside of the laptop. They do a good a job on providing audio quality where it has no volume distortion at the highest level. It’s good for listening music, but you should wear a headphone for longer usage.

Performance And Battery Life
Core i5-8250, 8GB RAM, and NVIDIA MX150 are really nice combinations. The performance on doing heavy task such as editing photo on Photoshop is easy to do here. I have also tried to do multi-tasking while playing 1080p video and it still runs smoothly. The graphic sector is a good thing here since it’s not supported by Intel HD that feels pretty cap on handling the graphic. On the other case, MX150 is offering better solution on multimedia and other heavy task purposes.
The company claims that the battery is able to last for 10 hours, but during the test I only got around 7 hours and 30 minutes with the 70% resolution. It’s just me that doing it over or they really have use another method. But, do not expect 10 hours battery because that is not going to happen. I even tried to the minimal test and it’s still not possible. Once again, 7 or 8 hours battery is more than enough.back to menu ↑
Those are information I know about it. Should I buy it then? Well, if you are looking for good machine that good in performance and does not really that care in design, then this one should be good enough. Everything is back on you on deciding it, so feel free to make any choice. I just hope this information is good enough for you. At last, thank you very much for reading the article and see you again.
