A VR gaming machine is not something that cheap to afford in 2018. Yeah, there are so many of them available in the market right now, but still at least you need to spend for more than 1000 dollars in order to get the appropriate device. That amount of money is not cheap in my opinion and not all of people want to spend that much for a laptop. Many companies see this case as the way for them to get the consumers by providing a great choice, but in affordable price.
For this case, Dell comes and surprises us with their Inspiron I7577 that looks promising especially in term of performance. The system is fully equipped with Intel Core I5 processor that combined NVIDIA GTX 1060 that fully capable for VR. These hardware are huge deal for the price and I guess people should easily get into it. Still, there are few things you have to consider before you decide to take it.
That is what we are going to talk about here. We are going to talk about it further and see how it performs on our test. To make it easier for you to understand, let’s we jump into the article.
Design And Packaging
The Inspiron series is well known for their red and black design and here they once again they put the same exact things here. You might end up of getting the entire black one or the red one depending on your choice. The look is quite great here especially considering its price. The matte finishing is nice and soft when you put your hands here. The build quality is impressive here as the hinge system, led, and base feels pretty strong and durable.
The company maintaining the same thing for the interior, the deck is covered by soft touch material that surrounded by island type of keyboard at the center of It. The port connectivity is well complete here with modern and traditional ports work together. There are pair of USB 3.0 alongside with Thunderbolt 3 port that usable for connecting it to the bigger monitor and doing some other stuff. I guess they really put so many nice things here.back to menu ↑
Display And Keyboard
This is where the price talking here. The IPS panel could produce lot amount of details and colors, but sadly for me is not really much. On my test, it produces around 70 percent of SRGB color and that less for most average result we see on similar products. Luckily, the brightness is not a problem here and means you won’t have to push the brightness all around for your indoor and outdoor usage. Well, there is still no complaining from me as the price is so cheap.
Move to its keyboard, hopefully it offers me better experience here and the thing is really happened here. The 1.2 mm travel key and island type keyboard is a nice combination here and offering steady and enjoyable way for typing. It requires to force for 79 grams and gives overall nice feedback to our every touch. I was able to type for around 95 words per minute with minimal error rate. The touchpad is giving the same impression as its comfortable to enough to use on both of FPS and MOBA games. I think I do not have bad thing to say from its keyboard.
|Dell Inspiron I7577 Gaming||Main Specs|
|CPU||Intel Core I5-7300HQ Up To 3.5 GHZ|
|Graphics||NVIDIA GTX 1060|
|OS||Windows 10 Home|
|Memory||8GB DDR4 Memory|
|Storage||128GB SSD + 1TB HDD|
This is what we are waiting for and the result might surprise you here. It turns out that Core I5 7300HQ and GTX 1060 are so powerful and even capable of running games at the highest setting. The first game I tested here is Rocket League. I started the match by playing on multiplayer mode at the maximum setting. The game started and I found that the FPS was reaching up to 60 FPS all the time. It even reaches for 100 FPS and that feels impressive. I also tried more demanding games like PUBG and Overwatch. The result is similar here and both of them are playable up to 60 FPS. The performance is I think the biggest selling point here.
As for the battery life, I have no issue at all here. I mostly received for 7 hours and 25 minutes for browsing through the internet while connecting to the WIFI while for gaming it gave me around 5 or 6 hours of gameplay depending on brightness and setting on the game. The maximum setting will give you less battery while the lowest setting is offering more battery, but with less impressive graphic. I do not have mind with this result and looks promising.
If you are looking for a decent for gaming on your limited budget, this laptop is probably your best luck right now. There is no way for you to get of similar hardware with the same price on other competitors. The display is not that wonderful, but keep in mind Dell have put their budget on hardware specs and this case is not avoidable. The choice is yours, so feel free to take any consideration. I just hope the information is useful for you and please leave any comment for further assistance.
