Acer Chromebook Spin 11 is a solid nearly 400 dollars laptop that offers of great keyboard, stylus pen included on the package, and convertible design where different usage modes are available. The system is so perfect for kids because it has been certified with MIL-SPEC 810G certification tests that make sure the chassis is durable enough to hold of drops, bumps, shock, and extreme temperature test. This is what kids need to have because you probably know they love to drop anything they have. Do not bother on buying something that easy to break when you have better choices.
The Chrome OS is still not perfect in apps compatibility even for now. The only choice we have here is installing of Android applications that becoming the only solution here. Thankfully, for checking email, editing document, web browsing, and playing games are not big issue here for kids. The system might not just suitable for large scale business usage. I think its worth for us to take look inside and see how it works on us. That is what we are going to talk about here. Without further ado, let’s we jump into the article.
Good Looking Plastic Design
The Spin 11 really looks like a toy because it’s small and easy to hold and take off with your hands. The entire chassis is created from polycarbonate plastic that surrounded by rubberized bumpers on its every edge corner. The bumper is the thing that would hold of the chassis when it’s bumped or dropped. The exterior look is very simple and you are not going to find something wow or wonderful to see here. Moving into the inside, you soon see the same design treatment here with 11 inch screen on its top and a small size keyboard at bottom of it. The gorilla glass protection is used here for better protection although I still recommend putting of tempered glass here.
Similarly to other 2 in 1 laptops, a 360 degree rotating hinge system featuring here and offers of four different modes to expect included of tent, stand, tablet, and traditional modes. Each mode as their own functionality as the tablet mode is useful for reading article or electronic book in classroom. As for the connectivity, we get of two USB 3.0 ports and luckily have two USB type-C ports here. Finding a double type-C ports are almost impossible here, but Acer once making it possible.back to menu ↑
Productivity and Multimedia Sectors
I have to say that I love its small island type keyboard. The keys are somehow shallow, but firm at the same time. I manage to get of maximum speed on my first time on using it. Sadly, the keys layout is quite unfamiliar here and sometimes it’s hard to remember of Page Up or Home keys location. The backlit support is missing here, but not a big problem as its pretty normal here. The same great treatment goes to the touchpad as its silky smooth on scrolling and navigating through the system. The inputs are not perfect, but more than enough to edit some documents and doing all of stuff.
As for the multimedia usage, you have 11 inch screen display with 1366 x 768 resolution. In term of quality and brightness, I think those things are okay, but unfortunately the screen is reflective and making hard to see it under the directly sun. The users could minimize the reflective effect by flipping it to tablet mode. Not the best solution here, but at least there is something to do here. This might be becoming the most important consideration you need to think.

Long Last Battery and Dependable Performance
The Spin for this case is powered by Intel Celeron N3350, 4GB RAM, and 32GB EMMC storage. The hardware configuration is low, so never have of high expectation. For standard usage like browsing and streaming movies running so well as I am able to open 11 tabs on Chrome and streaming 720p video at the same time. Google now giving access for installing dozen of Android apps and the compatibility is keeping increased day by day. The application support is not as good as on Windows, but there plenty of entertainment and games to install from Android for kids to enjoy.
As for the battery life, the device should run for 12 hours and 30 minutes in single charge. I tested the battery durability by keeping of streaming movies for nonstop. A day straight usage is totally possible here without afraid to put the charger on their bag. The battery life is the biggest selling point to offer for us. I think having of low res resolution and dim display bringing good thing as the battery is longer than my expectation. This could be a great consideration for taking it back home.
Acer once again provides of impressive for users to afford. The Spin 11 is an incredibly device considering the price range and features it brings here. Few notable things like display is not so impressive, but the rest of parts like keyboard and battery should cover of its problem. The system is not perfect, but being a nice option for kids companion for classroom activity. The choice is yours, so feel free to take any consideration here. I just hope the information provided is good enough for you. At last, thank you very much for reading the article and mind leaves any comment for further assistance regarding the article.
